As a young child, I was placed in a county facility for children. It was during this time that I began to discover the works of Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci in our trips to the library. Art became a refuge and this is where my love for art began. At the age of 17, I went out on my own. I attended Pasadena City College and while in a work study program, I taught arts and crafts to children. I achieved an Associate of Arts Degree with an Emphasis in Fine Arts. I then attended the University of California at Santa Barbara. I continued to teach art classes as my own professional art career began to develop.
My home and art studio in Santa Barbara County is shared with my wife and home-schooled daughter who we adopted from foster care.
I have had the pleasure of studying with several renowned Santa Barbara artists including Dr. Louis Taylor, Richard Phipps, and Marcia Burtt. More recently, I studied with Linda L. Ging in Santa Fe, New Mexico. My jewelry, sculpture, paintings and mixed media work has been shown in a variety of shows and galleries in the continental United States, Hawaii and the Caribbean which include:
